How my tapping made the vet tech panic (in a good way!)
On a visit to my sister in Oregon a few years ago, one of the errands we had on the agenda was to take her dog Addison to the vet to have her nails trimmed.
Addison HATED anything to do with the vet.
The moment we arrived, she was skittish and distressed, and an extra vet tech was needed to hold her down while she was having her nails trimmed.
I decided to try an experiment and I asked my sister if it would be OK if I tapped for Addison during the procedure. She agreed, and as the vet techs got busy on Addison's nails, I quietly began tapping for her from the corner of the room.
Less than a minute into the process, something strange happened.
The vet tech holding Addison in place started to panic. Her eyes darted around the room, and for a split second, I could see she was really concerned as she tried to figure out what had just gone wrong.
The vet tech thought something terrible had happened, but in fact Addison had relaxed so much during the tapping that her body went limp.
The look on that vet tech’s face said it all! This was something truly different. And the best part? You don’t have to be an expert in tapping to bring this same peace and comfort to your pet.
That’s exactly why I created Tapping for Pets: A Practical Guide to Supporting Your Animal’s Well-Being. In this training, I’ll walk you through everything step-by-step, so you can start using tapping right away to help your pet feel calm, safe, and supported.
Your pet can’t tell you what’s wrong. Here’s how you can help!
It’s heartbreaking when our pets are in distress, and we don’t know how to help. We see the fear in their eyes during a thunderstorm. We notice the nervous pacing before a vet visit. We sense the sudden drop in energy when something feels off, yet they can’t tell us what’s wrong.
What if there was a way to ease their stress, bring them comfort, and support their well-being, even without words?
We want to help them feel happy and healthy, but it can be challenging to read their behavior to understand exactly what they are experiencing.
It’s frustrating when we know our animals are struggling, but we can’t be sure why. That’s where learning to tap for them can make such a difference, giving us another way to support them, even though they can’t communicate with us in words.
In the Tapping for Pets program, you’ll learn how to:
